The finest wear rods and... we can prove it!

Seeing is Believing!

I used mostly Shaper bars to demonstrate how poorly their "Super wear resistant hardened steel" held up. Note how the wear pattern has turned the front ends of the carbides into battering rams. The lack of wear on the rear 2/3rds of the host bar demonstrates the lack of pressure on the rear 2/3rds. It also explains the heavy wear on the front 1 to 2 inches of the turning carbide.

The Leading Edge is made from channel iron with sloping cutting carbides on each side. They are significantly higher than the turning carbide so they present a different profile up-front. However, the front 1 1/2" of the turning carbide is still significantly worn.
